The lesson

I have a question for you: have you ever seen a lion? Maybe at a zoo, or in a movie? Here in Kenya, we have magnificent lions called simba. Simba is the Swahili word for lion. Kenya has very strong lions in places like Maasai Mara and Tsavo. These lions are known for their power. At these bullet points. The Maasai Mara and Tsavo are home to powerful simba. Imagine facing a lion with no weapons at all! That would be very scary, wouldn't it? Take a look at this picture of a lion. Feel its strength. He was so strong that he killed a lion with his bare hands! Isn't that amazing? Let's find out more.

Has anyone heard of Samson before? Samson was a judge in Israel—a leader chosen by God. One day, he went with his parents to a town called Timnah. As they walked along the road, something surprising happened. Can you guess what it might be? At this picture. A young lion—a simba—suddenly roared at Samson! Imagine you are walking and a big, strong lion appears. What would you do? Samson didn't have a weapon, but he trusted in God. The Bible tells us that the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon Samson. With God's strength, he was able to tear the lion apart with his bare hands! Just like that—no spear, no sword, just God's power. Isn't that amazing? Today we learned that when we trust God, He gives us strength for even the scariest moments. Samson didn't run away; he faced the lion because God was with him. Next time you feel afraid, remember Samson and ask God to help you too.

It is about a man named Samson and how God gave him incredible strength. At the title: 'Samson Kills the Lion'. This is a lion – in Swahili we say 'simba'. Lions are very strong and dangerous, but Samson killed this lion with his bare hands! Let's find out how. Listen closely. Samson had no weapon – no sword, no spear, not even a stick. He only used his hands. The Bible says he tore the lion apart just like you would tear a young goat. That shows how powerful God made him in that moment. What does this story teach us? Samson did not rely on tools or weapons. He trusted God, and God gave him the strength to defeat a mighty lion. It reminds us that with God, nothing is impossible.

Let's think about this big question: How can we rely on God today? You might have worries at school or at home. Maybe you're afraid of a test, or you have a problem with a friend. Today we'll learn three simple ways to trust God, even when things are hard. First, when you are worried, pray. Mungu (God) is always listening. He cares about every little thing that bothers you. The next time you feel scared or upset, just talk to God. He hears you, and that can give you peace. Second, read the Bible to know God's promises. The Bible is like a letter from God to us. It tells us that God will never leave us and that He is strong enough to help. You can read one verse every day, like "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." That promise is for you! Third, trust God even when things seem impossible. Sometimes a problem looks as big as a mountain. God is bigger than any mountain. He can do anything. When you don't see a way out, remember: God is working. Trust Him, and He will make a way. Today, remember three keys: pray, read the Bible, and trust God. These help you rely on God no matter what you face. You can do it with His help!

Worked examples

Where Did Samson's Strength Come From?

Let's start with our first worked example: Where did Samson's strength come from? Samson was the strongest man in the Bible, but his strength had a special source. First, we learn that his strength was not natural. It wasn't something he was born with or earned. It was a gift from God. The Bible says the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. That's the real source! God gave him supernatural strength for a purpose. Here's our lesson: just like Samson, our talents and abilities come from God. We should be grateful and use them to honour Him. Remember: we can do great things when we trust in God's power. That's the key takeaway from Samson's story.

Relying on God in Our Lives

Class, we just learned from Samson's story that God gave him strength when he trusted. Imagine you have a really hard exam coming up — maybe in math or science. Some of you might feel scared. What does our lesson say? 'Hard exam? God helps!' You can pray and say, 'God, please help me remember what I studied.' He will be with you, just like He was with Samson. Or maybe you feel afraid at night or when you're alone. The Bible says 'God is near.' Even when you're frightened, you are never alone. God is right there beside you, like a strong friend holding your hand. Finally, remember our friend Samson. He was strong because he relied on God. We can do the same. In everything — big or small — we can trust God. Next time you face something hard, just say, 'God, I trust You to help me.'

Lessons from Samson's Courage

Our third worked example: Lessons from Samson's Courage. Samson was a man of great strength, but his real power came from trusting God. The first lesson says: Samson did not run away. He trusted God and faced the simba, or lion. Imagine being so brave that you don't run from a lion! Samson knew God was with him, so he didn't need to be afraid. The second lesson: Courage comes from trusting in God's power. Samson didn't trust his own muscles alone — he trusted God. When we trust God, He gives us the courage we need. The third lesson: We can be brave when we remember God is on our side. Whenever you feel scared — maybe before a test or a tough situation — remember Samson and the lion. God is with you, so you can be brave too. To sum up: trust God, be courageous, and remember He is always with you.
